Asian-Inspired Stir Fry Sauce

This little sauce is the poster child for my favourite line: Make Healthy Delicious. Versatile, scalable and quick, this sauce will become a staple weeknight go-to. Consider omitting the cornstarch and adding some nut butter to transform this sauce into a delicious dipping sauce. Pair it with as many colourful veggies as you can and a protein such as tempeh, shrimp, legumes, fish, poultry or meat.
Servings: 2 portions

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • ½ tablespoon sambal oelek or sriracha (optional) if you like a little heat

Instructions

  • Combine the ingredients and bring to a gentle boil until slightly thickened.
  • To make a delicious Satay-style dipping sauce, omit the corn starch and add a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter, mix well.
  • Enjoy!
